WOMEN FOR ARMY
Wellington Enlistments Since applications opened ou February 23, 45 young women have applied to the Wellington branch of the Women's War Service Auxiliary for service with the Army, said the honorary secretary of the branch, Miss Low, yesterday. Further applications were being received each day, and they came from a fine type of girl. Already eight signallers and one shorthandtypist had been placed. Cooks, waitresses, clerical and canteen workers and transport drivers would probably be required in the future. Tlie branch had so far placed nine girls in the Women's Land Army Corps, said Miss Low. Letters received showed that tlie girls were working keenly and that they were appi'eeiaiivc of Hie kind treatment they were receiving from farmers.
