NEW TYPE OF RIFLE
Bayonet Only Six Inches Long y LONDON, January 7. British troops are being issued with a new type of rifle having a bayonet only six inches long, compared - with the/ present IGA inches. The new weapon is styled as the Mark IV, and has much the same mechanism as the present issue. The new bayonet has four fluted sides, and comes to a needle-sharp point. /The scabbard is shaped like a narrow cone.
The Mark IV rifle is said to be as good as any rifle in the world and more efficient than most, declared an expert.
