First Labour Prime Minister Dead
(Received November 18, 10.;,.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, November IS. The death has occurred of Mr. John Christian Watson, first Labour Prime Minister of Australia. He was a pioneer in the trade union movement here. Mr. Watson spent his youth in New Zealand, where he became a compositor, eventually settling in Sydney. _ The House of Representatives in Canberra suspended its sitting this afternoon out of respect to his memory.
