One Industry To Be
Delicensed Dominion Special Service. WAIRAKEI, November 18. “During this year a number of industries have voted on the question of the introduction of an industrial plan for their industry, and so far in the case of the footwear industry, and the range manufacturing industry, affirmative votes have been recorded an'd committees appointed," states the/ annual report of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, presented today. “In the case of several other industries, particularly the radio manufacturers, soap manufacturers, nail manufacturers, and storage battery manufacturers, a number of meetings have been held with the Bureau of Industry to discuss plans, and already some of these have been voted on. The storage battery Industry rejected the plan, and the Minister, after discussion with representatives of the industry and our federation, has notified the industry that he will delicense it in accordance with his statement that, except in exceptional circumstances, a licensed industry implied also the ultimate adoption of a plan.”
