Sergeant Ward, V.C. An air casualty list issued yesterday announces that Sergeant J. A. Ward, New Zealand’s first Victoria Cross winner of the present war, who was previously reported missing, is now reported missing, believed killed. The list is as follows: — WARD, James A., Sergeant, V.C., R.N.Z. A.l’\, previously reported as missing, now missing believed killed. Mrs. P. 11. Ward, 36 Konlnf Street, Wanganui (m) WADDELL, John M., Pilot Officer, R.N.Z. A.F., missing on air operations. Mr. J. Waddell, 1 Marine Tee., Bayswater, Auckland .(f) MILLAR, Patrick 11., Sergeant, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing, now reclassified prisoner o£ war, unwounded. Mr. A D. Millar, Dalearn, Crieff, Perthshire (f) WOODKOOFE, Gordan T„ Sergeant, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing, now rcclassitied as prisoner of war. Mr. R. Woedroofe, Matamata (f)
