“JUPITER LAUGHS”
The Wellington Repertory Theatre will commence a five nights season ot “Jupiter Laughs," by A. J. Cronin, in the Concert Chamber on Tuesday next. Like his famous novel, "The Citadel,” the playdeals with the medical profession "iu satire that is often amusing but more often biting and cruel,” according to the critic of the “Otago Daily Times, who goes on to say, “It is brilliant writing in the true Cronin style, and it is tremendously effective. The central figures are two young doctors in love—he has just made an epoch-making discovery, she has dedicated her life to missionary work. There is a clash of ideals, and in an environment of jealousy and intrigue, an intense drama develops. These two characters will be played by Cedric Gardiner and .Molly Browf), and they will be supported by Zenocrate Mountjoy, Anne Lane, Audrey Legge, Margaret fVainwright, George Cooper, Eric Lawson, H. D. Kelly, and Eric North. The producer is AV. S. Wauchop.
