MAJESTIC THEATRE

In a ’city where most of the current film fare is serious, “Love Crazy ’ at the .Majestic Theatre stands out as the ideal entertainment for those people who like their entertainment funny, frothy and frivolous. At times, "Love Crazy is so slapstick that William Powell might easily have been Groucho Marx. It follows today’s trend in that it can better be described as-a series of hilarious incidents tied together with a plot that is fairly negligible. lhere are some memorable moments in ‘Love Crazy”—when William Powell climbs through the ceiling of a jammed elevator and is left suspended by his neck between the doors 20 floors from the ground; when he feigns insanity and breaks up a very white-tie-and-tails party in a beautiful Long Island home, when he poses as his own elderly sistei, complete with bust and bustle. Myrna Loy, as well-dressed and patient as’ever, is again the wife who suffers her husband’s craziness with a humour and dignity born of many past trials. The Powell-Loy combination is the most successful in screen history—and one of the longest. "Love Crazy is decked out in the best Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer manner and the supporting cast us scarcely a length behind the principal players. Excellent newsreels, covering the war effort in many parts of the Empire, and a selection of other short features make the Majestic’s programme one of the most worthwhile in Wellington.
