Day Of Prayer
Sir,—Under the caption, “Lest We Forget,” the writer inserted as a paid advertisement, in “The Dominion” of Wcdnefidiiy, November 11, 1925, a remarkable sermon preached by Dr. Helms, pastor of the Fii'st .Methodist Episcopal Church of Los .Angeles, CallfOniiii. In this discourse Dr. Helms produced striking evidence of God in the world as seen by what He did jn the Great -War. If only the Englishspeaking nations had taken heed to the lessons which God sought to teach them in 1914-18. I have now had printed a message of “Warning and Encouragement,” but lack the means of publishing it in “The Dominion.” It is a striking message and l contains the remarkable warning issued to the English-s|x-nking people by Mr. Montagu Norman in 1932. In this message I have urged that tile Briiisb Prime Minister be asked to appoint by Parliament November 11, 19-11. ag a special State day of prayer by Royal proclamation. I hgye no doubt thiit If my'suggestion is Ofirried out we may count the days when peace Will again be restored. I would like every redder of “The Dominion” to receive this pamphlet and also “Christocracy and Not Democracy the Hope of the World.” I shall be pleased to send a copy of these two pamphlets If a stamped and addressed envelope is sent to: “D.0.M.,” Box 258. G.P.0., Wellington.—l am, etc., D.O.M. Wellington, October 16.
