Unusual Procedure To Avoid Increase With a view to avoiding a temporary increase in the wholesale aud retail prices of certain brands and grades of tea iu New Zealand, the Price Investigation Tribunal has agreed to au unusual procedure being adopted by a number of firms. It was stated yesterday that the tribunal had arranged that the firms concerned should themselves absorb a rise in the price of certain recent shipments of tea, for which they might reasonably have sought permission to ask more. Iu return, it had been arranged that the companies should be reimbursed when they were importing the same tea more cheaply, as they would then be permitted to continue selling at the present figure, till they had recovered the amount they had. foregone.
