OBITUARY

Mr. C. A. Norris, C.B.E. A cable has been received hi Wellington reporting the death in Melbourne of Mr. C. A. Norris, C.8.E., F.1.A., < general manager and actuary of the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd. Mr. Norris, who was aged 66, had spent 50 years in the service of the association, being appointed general manager and actuary in 1035. His outstanding financial knowledge was called on by the Australian Federal and Victorian State Governments on several occasions. He was a commissioner of the Victorian State Electricity Commission, and for his distinguished public services was created Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1937. Mr. Brady is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. T. M. Donovan, Mrs. R. I. Low, Mrs. G. Hart, Christchurch, and Messrs. F. and I’. L. Brady. The interment, which was private, took place yesterday morning at Kurori.
