WELLINGTON WOMAN’S EXPERIENCES

Now Prisoner In Germany

A cablegram telling of the safety of his sister, Miss Eveline Harcourt, formerly of Wellington, who was taken prisoner when the Port Hobart was sunk by a raider off Porto Rico on. November 24, bas been, received by Mr. Stanton Harcourt, Wellington, through the Bank of JSiew Zealand. The message states that she is at present in - hospital at Wesermuende, on the North Sea coast, near Bremen. Germany, and expects to be transferred to Liebenau,, near Lake Constance, as soon, as she is well.eough. It is also stated that Miss, Harcourt was well situated and kindly treated. In a previous letter Miss Harcourt gave an account of some of her experiences before she was sent to Germany. After trie sinking of the Port Hobart she had been 17 weeks on enemy ships, where she had been treated very well by everyone. Three months of this period bad been spent in the tropics when Miss Harcourt, who is 63 years of age, had become sunburnt and had had her hair turned white.
