Government House, Wellington, July 20. Her Excellency Lady Newall has returned to Government House from kVanganui.

Carruthers, Auckland, left. Wellington for Dunedin last night. Mr. R. L. Ferris, Wellington, left by tlie Limited yesterday for Auckland. Mr. J. 11. Simpson, Wellington, left for the south by steamer express last night.

Mr. C. S. Munn, secretary of the Industrial Emergency Council, is visiting Auckland. The Hon. P. K. Paikea, representative of the Maori race on the Executive Council, is visiting Auckland. Mr. 11. I. Forde, publicity officer to the Department of Agriculture, left Wellington yesterday for Auckland. The Hon. J. A. McCullough, Canterbury, left Wellington for the south by steamer express last night. Mr C J. Talbot, Timaru, who has been visiting Wellington, returned south last night. Mr. R. C. Beck, of South Island Fertilizers, Ltd., Christchurch, returned to the South Island last night after a visit to Wellington. Mr. W. de Gruchy, of the Port Line, Limited, arrived at Auckland from Sydney in tlie Monterey on Sunday on a* business trip to New Zealand. Mr. C. H. Schwass, assistant to the Director of the Fields Division, Department of Agriculture, Wellington, left yesterday for Auckland. The Hon. Mr. Justice Johnston will leave Wellington today to preside at the quarterly session of the Supreme Court in Wanganui. Mr T. L. Solomon, formerly president ' of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union, Ims been appointed wharf superintendent for the Waterfront Commission, Auckland. Mr. Solomon, who recently resigned from the union, took up his new duties last Monday.
