Inspector-General Of Forces SIR ANDREW RUSSELL The resignation of MajorGeneral Sir Andrew Russell, K.C.8., K.C.M.G., from his post of Inspector-General of the New Zealand Military Forces was announced last night by the ActingPrime Minister, Mr. Nash. The Minister said that Sir Andrew had reached his decision consequent upon the appointment of General Sir Guy Williams, K.C.8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., as military adviser, and .also for health reasons. “On General Russell’s retirement, the Government wishes to express its gratitude for the sterling work 'accomplished by him during his term of office,” Mr. Nash said. “His long experience and wise counsel have beeu of the greatest assistance in formulae ing the expansion and. training of the military forces. The' National Reserve and the Home Guard owe a great deal to his never-failing Interest in those organizations. His own unflagging energy during his constant travelling throughout the Dominion has Inspired confidence and enthusiasm in all those under training and the public generally.
