(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 28. In celebration of the anniversary of the indeiKJiidence of Peru Senor S. Quiros Y. Quiros, Consul for Panama, who is in charge of the consulate for Peru, entertained members of the consular corps and a number of citizens at luncheon today.

Speaking of Peru’s common interest and friendship with the United States, Senor Quiros said that today Peruvians firmly believed in United States sincerity and friendship, not only because they trusted the word of men aud nations, so long as there were no facts to challenge that belief, but also because the community of interests of South America and the United States was so evident that statesmen on both sides must be governed by the fact.
