Yesterday’s Quotations ' WELLINGTON EXCHANGE The latest buying and selling quotations recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange were as follows:—

Gold Mining Returns Gillespie’s Beach dredge return: 21oz. Qdwt. from 11,600 cubic yards tn 134 h0 Argo dredge: 340 z. from 10,500 cubic yards in 127 hours. au o «- 3 Alexander Mines. Ltd., reports that for the month of June stoping has been carried on above the intermediate on lode varying in width irom one to fne feet. The knle on top is up to a le\el with the floor of No. 5 intermediate and the lode looks as if it will go some distance higher yet. The stope <lr ‘7 put out to a footage of 60 feet, all J’ 0111 * on lode from 4to 5 feet in width A connexion has now been made with a small crosscut, put out from the intermediate stopes; 140 tons have been sent to battery for the month. Woohvorths (W.A.), Ltd. Woolwortho (W.A.), Ltd., lias advised the Stock Exchange Association that a half-yearly dividend of 4 per cent, on the 8 per cent, preference share capital, based on shareholdings al at July 31» has been declared payable on August 15. lhe preference share transfer books will be closed from July 24 to 31, both dujs inclusive.
