Young Married Man
Drowned
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 18.
Swept oil a flat projecting rock by an unusually large wave while fishing at White’s Bay, Piha, on Saturday afternoon, a young married man was drowned. The victim was Curry Banks, aged 24, married, road grader driver, of Henderson.
Accompanied by two friends. Mr. Banks started fishing from a ledge at White's Bay between Piha and Anawhata at about 3 p.m., and an hour later, when he turned his back to the sea for a moment, the wave washed him off.
