RUSSIAN CARGO
Protest Against Seizure By U.S.A.
(Received May 18, 11.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 18.
The Soviet Ambassador, M, Oumansky, has protested to Mr. Hull against the seizure at San Francisco of a Russian cargo of wool and leather from the Swedish vessel Columbia. It is understood that the cargo, which came from Uruguay, was seized under rhe export licensing regulations applying to foreign goods moving through the United States.
