Large Attendance At

Funeral

Dominion Special Service. WANGANUI, May 16.

Hundreds of people from all parts of the Wanganui district and many from Taranaki attended the funeral of Mrs. W. J. Polson, which took place today at Matarawa Cemetery. Among those present were the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holland, Air. Rogers, M.L.C., Mr. Cotterill, M.P. for Wanganui, and Mr. Gordon, M.P. for Rangitikei. There were also representatives from the Farmers’ Union, the National Party, the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and allied organizations. There were dozens of wreaths from all parts of New Zealand, including one from the ActingPrime Minister. The pallbearers from the residence to the hearse were Second-Lieutenant John Polson, Messrs. Robin Polson, D. Campion, F. Brandford, Leading Aircraftman J. Cranstone and Mr. T. Mitchell. The pallbearers from the hearse to the graveside were Messrs. A. Collins, S. Reid, G. Carter, L. Campion, Janies Hunter and T. Mitchell. The Rev. Mr. Hercus officiated at the graveside.
