NATIONAL SERVICE
Branches To Be Housed In One Building
The Wellington district office of the employment, and repatriation division of the National Service department, at present housed in two separate buildings, is being brought together in a new four-story building at the corner of Tory Street and Holland Street, which is being taken over by the Government.
The employment bureau, which deals directly with work on employment schemes, is at present in Herbert Street, and the placement office, which handles the placement and repatriation side of the work, is in Customhouse Quay. The employment bureau will move into the new quarters at the end of this week and the placement office about the middle of next week. The district office of the Social Security Department will be accommodated in the same building soon.
