The Hutt Valley harriers held a run from Hutt Park on Saturday. About 20 runners set off in three packs, the slow pack being in charge of K. Robbie, the medium pack by G. Jenkins, and the fast pack by the club captain, T. Shaw. The runners, on leaving Hutt Park, turned into Gracefield Road, and up the Wainni Road and down the hill past Griffin’s factory to Wakefield Street; then along the stop-bank to the pipe bridge, finishing back on the Hutt Park.
Of the runners in the slow pack who showed up were N. Taylor, K. Russell, and 11. Watisbrough. In the medium pack, those most prominent were, N. Richards, R. Robbie, and G. Turner. The fast pack were set a task to catch the slow pack, which they could not do, the best of this pack did not overdo things, but. the most prominent on the day were H. Goss, L. Mallowes. and O. Anderson. Next week’s run will be held from the Y.M.C.A., Petoue, which is an invitation given by Mr. G. Reardon.
