Missing defence files formed the basis of a charge against George Samuel McHutchinson, aged 43, a former clerk at the Victoria Military Barracks, who, at the City Court yesterday, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Most of the evidence concerned McHutchinson’s association with “Mr. X.” an unauthorized person to whom lie had produced secret defence documents, the nature of which was not revealed to persons other than the magistrate and counsel. MeHutchlnson, who was described as a dangerous man, is an ex-serviceman.
