LONG HEARING ENDS
After hearing legal argument throughout the week, the Court of Appeal yesterday reserved judgment in the Hurdley ease. The hearing began last Monday morning; it concluded late yesterday afternoon. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, Mr. Justice Ostler and Mr. Justice Fair heard the case. The appeal was against a judgment of Mr. Justice Johnston in Wellington on November 27 on a misfeasance summons taken out under th’e Companies Aet, by John Francis Pym Yeatman, Wellington, present liquidator of J. E. Hurdley and Son, Ltd., against Alfrew Llewellyn Hurdley, Wellington, and William Andrew Hurdley, Auckland, two directors of the company, and Frederick George Dunn, accountant, Christchurch. Sums amounting to £10,060 were claimed. Mr. Justice Johnston acquitted defendants and dismissed the summons. The appeal was made by Yeatman against most, but not all, of the findings of Mr. Justice Johnston. Mr. C. Evans-Scott represented Yeatman and Mr. R. E. Tripe appeared fof A. L. Hurdley. W. A. Hurdley and Dunn were represented by Messrs. R. Hardie Boys and T. P. Cleary respectively. .
