Wilson —Millward The wedding took place recently in the Knox Presbyterian Church. Masterton, of Myrtle Lorraine, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Millward, Queen Street, and Robert James, elder sou of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson, Tyndall Street, Pahiatua. The Rev. John Davie officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of olive green, and a’floral pill'box hat and veil to tone. Her bouquet was of maidenhair fern and autumn-tinted flowers to tone with her hat. The bride was attended by her sister June as matron of honour. She wore a blue frock and hat, her bouquet being of flowers to tone. The best man was Mr. Fred Morley. At the reception the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a navy blue ensemble witli a shoulder spray of red rosebuds. For travelling, the bride wore a grey coat with black accessories. Hardy —Joseph A pretty wedding took place recentIv iu St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, when Thelma Ruth, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Joseph, Taita, was married to Ralph Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. IV. B. Hardy, Lower Hutt. The ceremony was performed by the Rev, H. E. K. Fry. The bride was escorted by her father, and wore a trained gown of cream brocade. Her beautiful veil formed a second train and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses and lily of the valley. Her attendants were Miss Nola Jensen and Miss Helen Hardy, who wore taffeta frocks of blue ana pink respectively. Miss Dulcie Keat, flowergirl, was in a green frock. Headdresses and bouquets toned with the frocks.

Mr. F. Hardy was best mau and Mr. C. Noble, groomsman. After the reception, which was held at the Horticultural Hall, Mr. and Mrs. R. 11. Hartly left for the north, the bride wearing a grey ensemble with navy accessories. Thompson—Bond

St. George’s Anglican Church, Patea, was the scene of a military wedding when Lydia, fifth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. IV. Bond, Patea, was married to Quartermaster-Sergeant. Desmond Richard Thompson, younger sou of Mr. and Mrs. F. Thompson, Napier. The Rev. IV. H. Walton officiated and Miss Gladys Kelly played the organ. The service was fully choral, as the bride is a member of the choir. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory brocaded satin. She wore a triple string of pearls and from a coronet of orange blossom mounted on a pleated frill of net her beautiful silk embroidered tulle veil fell to form a second train. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies and dahlias. The bridesmaids, Misses Pearl Kelly (chief) and Gloria Bond, sister of the bride, wore frocks of powder blue taffeta. and carried shower bouquets of lemon and blue flowers. Miss Beryl Waterland, the small niece of the bride, was flower-girl, wearing a frock of blue organdie over taffeta. Private Fred Williams, Patea, was the best man and Sergeant Hawkins, of New Plymouth, groomsman. During the signing of the register the hymn “O Father All Creating” was sung, and as the bride left the church Master Norman Kearney, Wellington, presented her with a lucky horseshoe and the couple passed under an archway of blue and white flags held by members of the staff of Messrs. Hughson’s Ltd., who formed a guard of honour. The reception was held in the Town Hall supper-room, where Mrs. Bond received the guests assisted by Mis. Newman, Wanganui, sister of the bridegroom. When Q.M.S. Thompson and Mrs. Thompson left, the bride wore a smart frock of tropical green wool georgette and a fur stoic, the gift of the bridegroom.
