“The Wellington Football Association has nothing to be ashamed of in the record of players answering their country’s call and now engaged on active service,” said Mr. J. Meltzer, chairman of'the outgoing management committee, at the annual meeting of the association this week. Mr. Meltzer said that no information was available as to the actual numbers, but the W.F.A. knew that the Association football players of Wellington had played and were playing their part in the defence of the Empire.
