INTEREST IN GREEK PLAY
Those who intend to see the Greek play, “IJippol.vtus” by Euripides, which is to be presented in the concert chamber of the Wellington Town Hal! on Friday and Saturday nights, will be well advised to book their seats without further delay. Great interest is being taken in the play, which is being produced by the European actress, Maria Dronke, for the normal activities fund of the Wellington Sub-Cen-tre of the Red Cross Society Madam Dronke is playing the leading part in the play, and her cast includes some talented Wellington amateurs. Members decided as the guild’s effort for Ihe month to provide 270 tins of barley sugar for soldiers’ parcels, at a meeting of the Petone branch of the New Zealand Union of Townswomen’s Guilds, Inc., held recently. An election of officers was held and resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. E. G, Noble; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. C. Burns, and 11. Martin; secretary, Mrs. E. J. Brownie; treasurer, Mrs. D. S.
