NAZI FORCE IN LIBYA
Growing Movement POSSIBLE PINCER MANOEUVRE Drive To Egypt And Suez?
(By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, March 6.
The “New York Tinies” states, in an exclusive story, that information has been received through official American sources that Germany is sending troops in force to Libya, and that these now total more than 100,000, including dive-bombers and Panzer divisions, whose tanks, it is believed, exceed 1000. Ihe movement has been in progress for more than a week, and is steadily growing. There is conjecture whether this is the initial operation in a drive to Egypt and Suez as part of a pincer movement, the other side of which would be a descent from the Balkans.
The manner of transportation of the forces to Libya has not yet been ascertained, but it is believed to be by way of islands in the eastern part of the Mediterranean which are free from British interference.
