TRAIN SERVICES — JOHNSONVILLE LINE, SUNDAY, 9th MARCH, 1941. /AN Sunday, 9th March, the train service on the Johnsonville Line will be suspended from 7.15 a.m. to 5.0 p.m. to permit of re-ballasting. During this period the trains will be replaced by buses operating on a similar timetable and making same stops for passengers. Buses will stop on Main Road opposite stations concerned, except Khaudallah, where buses will stop at north end of station platform. Rail tickets will be ava ila l>le on buses. TRENTHAM RACES. MARCH 13 and 15, 1941. RACE trains leave Wellington at frequent intervals from 10.30 a.m. (13th), 10.25 a.m. (15th), to 11.20 a.m. with additional ordinary trains 8.40, 9.55, 10.8 a.m., and 12.16 p.m., Thursday and 8.45, 9.55, 10.8, 11.51 a.m., 12.16, 12.48 and 1.22 p.m. Saturday. On Thursday usual 5.5 p.m. VVelling-ton-Melling train tuns to Lower Hutt On Thursday and Saturday usual 8.32 a.m. and 10.13 a..m. ’Wellington-Upper Hutt trains will leave Wellington 8.4 u and 10.8 a.m. respectively. On Thursday and Saturday the usual 7.48 a.m. Cross Creek-Masterton rail-car will leave Cross Creek 7.33 a.in., Featherston 7.50, Woodside Jn. arrive 8.1 a.m., .thence usual times. On Saturday’ the usual 11.40 a.m. Wei-lington-Upper Hutt train will be duplicated. The first portion will run to Mellins only and will stop at nil stations. The second portion (dep. 11.51 a.m.) will be a non-stop to Lower Hutt and will run through to Upper Hutt, making the usual stops between Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt. On Saturday special passenger train for Wellington, stopping where required, leaves Upper Hutt 4.28 p.m., Trentham 4.34, Lower Hutt 5.10, Wellington arrive 5.29 p.m. On Saturday the usual 5.10 Upper Hutt-Wellington train will leave Upper Hutt at 5.36 p.m., Trentham 5.42, Lower Hutt 6.16, Wellington arrive 6.35 p.m. On Thursday and Saturday special passenger train for Trentham leaves Masterton 7.23 a.m., Carterton 7.44, Featherston 8.15. Trentham arr. 10.52 a.m. Return train leaves Trentham 5.25 p.m.. Masterton arr. 8.12 p.m. Stops where required for passengers. On Thursday and Saturday train leaving Trentham 5.7 p.m. will connect, at Kaiwarra with the train leaving Wellington 5.47 p.m. for Palmerston North. On each day trains to Wellington leave Palmerston North 7.4 a.m. (express) and 7.12 a.m.; latter train arrives Wellington 10.49 a.m., enabling passengers catch 11.0 a.m. race special from Wellington.
