Another Hour In Britain
LONDON, March 4.
Clocks in the United Kingdom are to he advanced another hour from May 3 to August 9. The Home Secretary, Mr. H. Morrison, said in the House of Commons, that this would specially help to speed up the loading and unloading of ships. The railway authorities and the transport, manufacturing, and entertainment industries are gratified by the extension of summer time, but an official of the National Farmers’ Union declared that the decision would cause dismay among farmers throughout the country because it would considerably increase the cost of production.
