Bill To Grant Right To Members Of Commons (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 5, 7 p.m. > RUGBY, March 4. lu the House of Commons the Disqualification (Temporary Provisions) Bill, which provides that a member of the Commons may retain his seat if he is appointed to an office for profit under the Crown when it is certified by the Prime Minister that such ap•poihtment is in the national interest for the prosecution of the war, passed the committee stage and the third reading today. Criticisms of the Bill were made in committee, but only one amendment was pressed to a division. This amendment sought to limit the term of appointment of any member to one year, and was defeated by 155 votes. The War Damage Bill passed its second reading ia ihhe House of Lords.
