TINDER AUTHORITY delegated to me by provisions Of the above Regulations. and by direction of the Dominion Lighting Controller, I give notice: — 1. That proprietors of Gaseous Discharge tubing and incandescent advertising signs or other illuminations situated on buildings which can emit either direct or reflected light are forthwith to disconnect such lighting. 2. That under-veranda lighting which is ' deemed to contribute materially towards reflection from the street surface is to be either reduced in wattage, screened from the street, or shrouded in such a way as to eliminate reflections from the street. _ _, 3. That where the local Lighting Con-' troller considers that shop window light, either due to the position or its intensity, is contravening the Regulations, such steps as are directed by the Controller are at once to be taken to make the necessary alterations. 4. That the owners or occupiers of buildings, whether shops, factories, houses, or any other form of building which have windows facing the open sea, are at once to take steps which will make it impossible for a light burning behind such windows to be visible from the open sea; and all outdoor lights on private property, or road advertising signs, are to be either removed or so screened that neither direct nor reflected light from them will be visible from the open sea. 5. The areas likely to be visible from the open sea include the whole of that portion of the City south of and adjacent to Hutt Park Road, any of the more elevated positions throughout the Valley and all exposed positions both on the Western and on the Eastern Hills. 6. Further information regarding the Lighting Restrictions Emergency Regulations 1941 may be obtained from the Lower Hutt Lighting Controller, Mr. E. F.
