EX-KING ALFONSO
LONDON, March 3. In the presence of his widow, Prince Juan, the King and Queen of Italy, and other notables, the ex-King Alfonso’s coffin, covered with the Spanish flag, lay in the church of St. Mary of the Angels in Rome for a solemn funeral Mass, after which it was placed in a niche near the tomb of Spanish Popes in the church of St. Mary of Montserrat till its burial in Spain. ■ General Franco attended a memorial service in the Madrid church where King Alfonso was married. Flags in London were flown at half-mast.
