NAVAL RATIONS

Reductions Approved (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 4, 7 p.m.) RUGBY, March 3. The Admiralty states that the following changes in naval rations to come into force about the middle of the month have been approved:—All seagoing ships, daily allowance of nfeat reduced from 12 to 10 ounces, weekly allowance of sugar reduced from 24 to 21 ounces, the present weekly allowance of 101 ounces of butter will include margarine. Naval shore establishments : daily allowance of meat reduced from eight to six ounces, weekly allowance of sugar reduced from 17} to 14 ounces, weekly allowance of butter reduced to two ounces. All naval personnel on leave in future will receive identical rations with civilians. All naval personnel employed ashore and not victualled from Service sources and not billeted will also use civilian ration cards. Naval personnel billeted will use naval ration cards which will be identical with those of civilians, except. that a slightly nigher allowance of meat will be provided.
