CLUB ROWING
Star President’s Fours
•Members of the Stattßoating Club took advantage, of the perfeS: water conditions on Saturday afternoon to row off the President's Fours. Twenty oarsmen took the water together and the five outrigged boats made a fine sight as they raced toward the finishing line. That experienced stroke H. W. Bevan led his crew to a well-merited victory and demonstrated once again that science plus fitness are hard to bent. Three younger members of his crew are among the keenest in the club and have been training hard lately. After -the racing was over the crews gathered in the clubhouse and bid .farewell to yet another batch of members who are now.in the named forces. The race resulted : W. H. Bevan (str.), V. Donnelly (3), R. Carrol (2), P. Maplesden (bowj, 1; P. Taylor (str.). G. Jones (3). D. Young (2). A. T. McAlister (bow), 2; A Orr (str.), H. A. Uwe (3), J.
