NOW A.D.C. TO GENERAL FREYBERG
Lieutenant J. L. Griffiths Advice has been received of the appointment of Second'Lieutenant J. L. Griffiths .as an A.D.C. to Major-General B. C. Freyberg, officer commanding the N.Z.E.F. in the Middle. East. Having left. New. Zealand as a private, Lieutenant •Griffiths was promoted to n.c.o. rank in Egypt, and later gained a commission. 1 He. is widely known as a Poneke, Wellington and New Zealand Rugby football representative, and he has played a Conspicuous part in the game since he has been in the Army. He is a son of Mrs. A. J, Griffiths, of Khandallah, and the •late Mr, A. J. Griffiths, who was a wellknown Rugby administrator.- As a member of the Bank of New Zealand staff. Lieutenant Griffiths served in Wellington till transferred a few years ago to Wanganui and later to the East Coast.
