CORRESPONDENCE SCHOOL ENROLMENTS

Present indications were that last year’s maximum enrolment of 3100 pupils at the Government Correspondence School would again be reached this year, said the headmaster. Dr. A. G. Butchers, yesterday. He pointed out that final figures could not be given at.this juncture, because the school was still receiving a large number of inquiries- and ■ requests for application forms. : '‘ ' ■ “At the present moment the primary school roll carries the names of 1653 children, 540 in the primer classes and 1113 in the standard classes, including Forms I and II,” he said. “In the secondary department the enrolment to date is 719 full-time and 434 part-time pupils, making a total secondary enrolment of 1153. This gives a grand total of 2806 pupils, which is almost identical with the total for the corresponding date of last year, namely, 2794.’
