Blinds And Blackouts

Sir,— During the last war I lived in a suburb of London and managed to keep my pretty cream blinds by simply lining them witi} dark blue paper. The paper was strong enough to hold a light stick of its own enclosed in a hem just a little shorter than the blind. I used a wide strip of adhesive tape to fasten it at the top and the blinds lasted as long as they were required. The ordinary spring roller blinds run up more evenly for the additional paper lining which should, of course, be free, except at the top and not unrolled to fu-L length.—l am, etc., EX-SERVICE-WOMAN.
