WAR CASUALTIES

New Zealanders In AirForce KILLED, MISSING AND INJURED Casualties affecting New Zealanders serving in the Royal Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and covering a considerable period of the air war, are officially reported as follows :—

Sergeant Cyril Edgar Donehue, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations. Sergeant Donehue was born at Ternuka and educated at the Temuka District High School. Prior to Ms enlistment in the Royal New Zealand Air Force he was employed by the New Zealand Railways Department, and was stationed at Wellington. Hi* father is Mr. Jas Donehue, of Temuka. Canterbury. Pilot Officer William John Shirt ciiffe, RA.A.F., killed aircraft accident. His wife is Mrs. E. E. Shirt ciiffe, of 3 Leys Crescent, Remuera, Auckland. Pilot Officer Edward William Gir wood McKenzie, R.N.Z.A.F., dangerously injured as result of air operations, and admitted to hospital. Pilot Officer McKenzie was'born at Christchurch and was educated al Wellington College. Prior to enlistment in the Royal New Zealand Air Force he was employed by the Bank of New South Wales. His father is Mr. W. B. McKenzie, of United Insurance Co., Ltd,, Lambton Quay, Wellington. Sergeant Richard Waller Brookman, R.N.Z.A.F., missing, believed killed on air operations. Sergeant Brookman was born at Waitara and educated at New Plymouth Boys’ High School and Wellington College. Prior to enlistment with the R.N.Z.A.F. he was employed by a commercial firm in Wellington. HB mother is Mrs. H. S. Brookman, of 24 Upland Road, Kelburn, Wellington. Pilot Officer Charles Edward Langdon, missing, believed killed, on air operations. Pilot Officer Langdon was born at Hawera and educated at the Hawera High School. He was provisionally selected for a short-service commission in the middle of 1939, but when changes were made in the origi nal scheme he entered the R.N.Z.A.F. in September of that year with rank of acting pilot officer. His father is Mr. A. G. Langdon, of P.O. Box 111, Hawera, Taranaki. \ Sergeant Jack Fisher Wallace, R.N.Z.A.F., killed on air operations. Sergeant Wallace was born at Auckland and educated at Kowhai Intermediate School. His mother is Mrs H. R. Wallace, of Ngapawa Street, Mount Albert, Auckland. Sergeant Avon Ernest Limbrick. R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations Sergeant Limbrick was born at Blenheim and educated at Napier Technical College. Prior to his enlistment in the R.N.Z.A.F. he was a member of the Marlborough Aero Club. Hie mother was Mrs. E. A Limbrick, of Seddon Hotel, Marl borough, who died recently. Presumed Dead. The deaths of the following officers on the dates stated are presumed:— Pilot Officer Arthur Edmond Quentin Bourgeois, R.A.F., May, 1910. Pilot Officer Bourgeois was reported missing believed killed in May last. He was born at Gisborpe and educated at the Napier Boys’ High School. His mother is Mrs. A. E. Bourgeois, care Mrs. J. Esam, Kaipo Road, Hastings. Pilot Officer Neil Ewart, R.A.F., June, 19-10. Pilot Officer Ewart was reported missing in June last. He was granted a short-service commission in 1938, leaving New Zealand in December of that year to take up the commission in the Royal Air Force. His father is Mr. N. Ewart, Bauchop Road, Lower Hutt. Pilot Officer Francis Sirius Crawford, R.A.F., June, 1910. Pilot Officer Crawford was born at Auckland and educated at Vasanta Garden School, Epsom. He was' selected for a shortservice commission in 1938 and left New Zealand in September of that year to commence duty with the R.A.F. His father is Mr. W. Crawford, 11 Belvedere Road, Epsom. Corporal Jack Harry Langridge, R.N.Z.A.F., April, 1910. Corporal Langridge was previously reported missing in April last. He was born at Gisborne and was educated at the Gisborne High School. He joined the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1937 and left for England in February, 1939, for training with the R.A.F. with a view to returning to New Zealand with the “Wellington” flights. His father Is Mr. A. F. Langridge, 120 Whitaker Street, Gisborne.
