MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE OPENS

The Municipal Conference opened tonight, when delegates and their wives were welcomed at the Town Hall by the mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, and the president of the Suburban Local Bodies’ Association, Mr. I. J. Goldstine. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall. and Lady Newall, were welcomed by the president of the Municipal Association. Mr. T. Jordan, and the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, also extended a welcome.
