OSCAR NATZKE AND KENNETH NEATE
Wellington Concert Next Week
An important musical event will be the concert to be given on Saturday, March 15 in the Wellington Town Hall by Oscar Natzke, the famous New Zealandborn bass, and Kenneth Neate, the young Australian tenor. New Zealanders nave had all too few opportunities of hearing Mr. Natzke in person. At the time of the centennial festival concerts he was suffering from, an indisposition and his appearances were limited. Now, for the first time, he will be able to display, in a full-length programme, his remarkable .voice, and the musicianship .which has carried him in so short a time, to the peak of musical fame in Europe. Mr. Natzke’s fellow-artist, Mr. Neate, is a young Australian, whose tenor voice has been hailed as “the most important musical discovery in Australia for a generation.” He had his first, success with the Sydney Police Choir and has since sung in grand opera and at celebrity concerts in all States. The accompanist and solo pianist will be Mr. Henri Penn.
