The Minister for Hie Army, Mr. Spender, announced that Hie period of training at the militia camps would in future be extended from 7(1 Io 1)0 days.

The extensions of army training were announced after a meeting of the War Council. They mean, in effect, that all universal trainees will spend every alternate DO days, or a total of six months of the year, in camp till further notice. The Government's aim is to have 125.000 men. half of Australia's -military forces, continuously under arms for any emergency that may develop.
