Two Dances Set Down For Tonight
'Two dances, proceeds from which will swell the Victory Queen Carnival funds, will be held in Wellington tonight, one in the Town Hall, the other in the Kailway Social Hall, Waterloo Quay. Late, transport to suburbs and Trenthani vitt be provided for those who attend the dance in the Town Hall. Tennis Gathering.—The postponed tennis gathering arranged for .Miss Patrieia McCarthy. Xavy princess, will be held this weekend at the Iborndon Tennis Club's courts. Sunday Night. Concert.—Hie principals, chorus and orchestra of J. (_• >' H" lianison’s Gilbert and Sullivan Comic Opera Company will present a programme of entertainment in the Opera House tomorrow night, beginning at b.qV o’clock. Proceeds will be for the Movie Queen. . . , , Spinster Club’s Social.—A social and musicale, to be held in the National Club on Tuesday afternoon, has been arranged on behalf of the club’s princess, Miss Peggy Hyanis. Members of the J. L. Williamson Gilbert and Sullivan Comic Opera Company will be present, and Miss Evelyn Gardiner will speak on “How the Women of England are Taking It. Social Committee to be Formed.— Wives of Wellington retailers will meet in the D.I.C. tearoomw on Tuesday afternoon to form among themselves a social committee to support the Commerce Queen, Miss Patricia Luckie. The organizer is Mrs. D. Griflin.
