TUDOR THEATRE
Revolving about the adventures of a masked night-raiding bandit whose sword mark —a jagged “Z” —struck terror into every heart in old California’s most exciting days, whose daring won him the loveliest senorita in the land, “The Mark of Zorro” has been transferred to the Tudor Theatre, where it began a season yesterday. Action is the keynote of this 20th Century-Fox film based on a story by Johnston McCulley, and a duel to the death is the thrilling climax.
Experienced and popular players all, Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell and Basil Rathbone add to their laurels with their finished performances. A crime thriller, “The Spider,” is the associate feature-length attraction. Derrick de Mnrney and Diana Churchill play the leading roles in this story of a clever criminal who becomes caught in a plot of his own weaving.
