Increase By Cuttings
II is a simple matter to increase the stock of red currant bushes by laking cullings now These should tie from 12 to 15 inches long and the soft lips must be removed All buds, except Ihi lop four or live, should be rubbed off The cuttings will strike on a border facing easl. Gooseberries may tie propagated b.\ the same method. The cuttings in this case should be about 12 inches long, if possible, and all buds except those al the top ought Io be removed.
Black currants can bo increased simi larly. In lids case, however, all the buds should be left. The cuttings should be about I) incites long and inserted to about half llnir length in the ground. With all these bushes, the cuttings should be removed with a sharp knife just below a node or leaf joint. If possible 'it is better to remove them with a heel of old wood attached.
