W.D.F.U. GARDEN PARTY

Held In Lovely Grounds At Awopuni The garden party at Awapuni, given by the Dominion executive and advisory board of the W.D.F.U., this week, was most successful. A large crowd attended and more than £lOO was raised. The parly was held al the women’s division rest home, the lovely grounds and stately old house making a picturesque setting. Guests enjoyed a pleasant afternoon strolling on the lawns ami admiring tlie flower beds and in visiting the stalls which did an excellent business. Mrs. Noel Adams, Clevedou. Dominion president, declared the garden party open. Mrs. A. B. Smith. Wellington. Dominion secretary, and members of the Dominion executive and advisory board were also present. Mrs. Adams thanked those present for their support and specially thanked the Palmerston North branch for its work. A former Dominion president, Mrs. J. C. Wickham, Wanganui, said Hie rest home was fulfilling its purpose adequately, in providing a place where country women could find much needed rest. Mrs. W. F. Field, president of the Palmerston North branch, also spoke.
