Vrisillg iruin tlie recent discussiou by' the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce on tlie settlement ot war risk insurance claims on goods lost at. sea, the secretary of the chamber, Mr. E. M. Bardsley, said yesterday. that advice had now been received by" cable from tlie Department of Overseas Trade. London, through His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner, stating : — “No delay should occur iu the settlement of such claims if supported by necessarv documents completely in order. The difficulty arises from the fact that shippers in many instances do not hold such documents. Particular case or cases would be immediately investigated if full information is given.”
Importer.- having difficult' with their claims, or others who find it necessary to make claims, should communicate with the chamber, which wil suggest the best methods to adopt.
