Zircons Said To Have Been Called Diamonds FOUR MEN REMANDED John Lenard, butcher, aged 28, and Charles Ryan, clerk, aged. 25, appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday charged with obtaining from John Alexander Eustace on February 8 £l2 in money and two cheques tor amounts totalling £2S by falsely representing that four gold rings mounted witli stones known as zircons were gold rings mounted witli diamonds. William Birch, salesman and showman. aged 2G. and Edward Hughes, salesman, aged 2G. were charged witli obtaining £55 from Zcni.-t Grant on February 7 by falsely represent inc that two zircons were genuine diamonds. All four men were remanded to l-'eb rimry 2l>. U-til was refused.
