GERMAN NIGHT RAIDS
Main Attack On London And East Anglia
LONDON, February IS.
Two enejny bombers were shot down during raids over Britain last night, one by night lighters over Norfolk. The crew of four was captured. An Air Ministry communique says that tlie areas chiefly affected by the raids were London and surrounding districts, and East Anglia. The raid over London lasted for three hours and a half.
It was not on a large scale except in one district where a number of people were killed and injured. Elsewhere the casualties were few. Some fires were started, but these were quickly put out or brought under control and the damage was slight. Activity over East Anglia was widespread and continued throughout lhe hours of darkness. . Here again, however. the damage was slight and the casualties few.’
An agency message says that dining the raid over London many people were killed when a heavy bomb hit a shelter. Others were injured when two iron doors were hurled by lhe blast of the bomb into lhe shelter.
