UNCLAIMED CARGOES
Arrangement To Assist
Importers
Pel ails of an arrangement bet ween the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and the Wellington Harbour Board regarding cargoes unclaimed by importers because of the confusion caused among importers through enemy attacks on shipping, were outlined by the secretary, .Mr. E. M. Bardsley, at last night’s meeting of the council of the chamber. As so much cargo was arriving without documents, and as importers were not always aware that their cargoes were in the harbour board’s sheds, the chamber had arranged for the board to supply a list, of Hie marks of cargoes that had not been lifted within 1(1 days of a ship berthing, said Mr. Itardsley. The chamber was endeavouring to locale Hie consignees.
Members expressed appreciation <>l Mr. !’>.‘i rilsloy’s work in Illis matter, which would be ot great assistance to importers.
