Mount Morgan, Ltd. Mount Morgan, Ltd., reports that the estimated working surplus for the lour weeks ended February 5 was £B6BO. Westport-Stockton Coal Co. The directors of the Westport-Stockton Coal Company, Ltd., report that during the year ended December 31, the output of coal was 154,000 tons, compared with 138.183 tons in 1939. The net profit, after allowing iboOO xoi depreciation, and £18.575 for income 'and social security tax, is £7587/4/11. Io this sum must be added the amount ot £•’o 232/9/7 brought forward from 1939. giving a total of £29,819/14/6, which the directors recommend be dealt with as follows: —The payment of a dividend of 8 per cent, on the preference shares, absorbing £5305/4/10; the payment of a dividend of 24 per cent, on the ordinary shares, absorbing £3286/15/-; to carry forward the balance of £21,227/14/B.’ Gates, Ltd., Dividend Gates, Limited, Wellington, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that a further dividend of 6d. a share has been paid. Quill Morris (1936), Ltd. The directors of Quill, Morris (1936), Ltd., report a profit for the year ended January 31 of £3382, which, with £6OO brought forward, makes a total of £3982, From this there was paid last August an interim dividend on the increased share capital at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum of £912; leaving a balance in the appropriation account, of £3070. The directors recommend that a final dividend of 2i per cent., making 5 per cent, for the year, be paid (free of social and national security taxes), £914, that there be transferred to general reserve (which will then amount to £2500), a sura of £1639, and that there be carried forward the balance of £517.
