Illegal Possession Of Camera For being in possession ot a camera without a permit. Fritz Eduard Gallas, a German, who pleaded guilt,', "'as tim'd £lO by Mr. Luxford. S.M., in the Magistrates' Court. Wellington, yesterday. The magistrate added that it was the duty of aliens to acquaint themselves with the regulations. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan said that Gallas arrived in New Zealand on Septemiwr 18, 1939, with the camera in his possession, and had not surrendered it till communicated with by the police. "When he arrived was he asked about cameras?” asked the magistrate. Mr. McLennan said that the regulations were not then in force. Gallas said that he surrendered the camera as soon as be knew lie had to .do so.
